Volunteers Power Our Mission
The Friends welcome new and existing volunteers to support our Friends activities, which include:
Sorting and pricing books for our Book Sales
Managing Friends Membership drives
Organizing and hosting Fundraising Events
Communicating with the Trustees and Library Director
Networking with other library’s Friends groups
Meeting once a month at our Friends Board Meetings
Providing Advocacy in coordination with other library organizations
Helping staff the Library's Sunday concert series (see below)
Become a Concert Volunteer
The Friends are pleased to support the Library's popular Sunday afternoon concert series, and there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved. If you are a music lover looking for a way to give back to the community, consider becoming a concert volunteer to help staff the concert series. This role includes greeting musicians, introducing the concert, and managing the room during the program. Training and introduction scripts will be provided. Concert volunteers must be at least 18 years old and should be comfortable with brief public speaking and room management – and ideally enjoy music in a variety of genres. The time commitment for concert volunteers is minimal and flexible: staffing one concert every two months from September-June.
